Why Infrared Sauna?

Hello! Long time no talk. I know I was supposed to be turning on the marketing juices during the quarantine, pounding out blogs and emails, however for me, it was a time to go inward, reviewing and honing processes, nurturing, and educating myself.

Now that we are open and the world is slowly coming out of its cocoon, let's talk about our incredible Infrared Sauna and how it can assist your immunity system.

If you are like me, I have found traditional dry or wet saunas extremely difficult to breathe in. I have never lasted more than a few minutes in them. Certainly not long enough to experience benefit. The difference in an Infrared Sauna is that it heats YOU, not the air, creating an environment that is much more sustainable—basically, the benefits of a sauna without the extreme heat.

I use the sauna almost every day for at least 45 minutes. It has been glorious. My skin feels great, my body aches less and 'knock on wood' I haven't been sick in ages. In all seriousness, I don't ever want to be without daily access to an Infrared Sauna ever again.



While the sauna benefits are many (check out our website for more details), I want to talk specifically about how the infrared sauna can help you strengthen your immune system. Boosting our immunity may seem more critical during the Fall and Winter months, but I have had many a summer cold. According to Clearlight Saunas, "The deep heating from . . . the infrared heaters will raise your core body temperature, inducing an artificial fever. How does this benefit the body? Fever is the body's natural mechanism to strengthen and accelerate the immune response, as seen in the case of infection. This enhanced immune system, combined with improved elimination of toxins and wastes via intense sweating, increases your overall health and resistance to disease."

Another feature of our Infrared Sauna that I have had fun playing with is Chromotherapy. Until we bought our sauna, I had never heard of Chromotherapy. It is the science of using colors to adjust the body's vibrations to frequencies that harmonize and heal. It works on various energy points to help your body re-establish its natural balance. It accomplishes this via the full spectrum of visible light. I cannot say that I have a favorite, as it appears, I am fickle, one day I like the subdued blue, others the intense orange, and yet others the vivid red. It is part of the fun for me. I take a deep breath and ask myself, "what do you need today?" This morning I couldn't decide, so I put it on what I like to call disco lights – it slowly transitions through all the color options. Perfect for the person who wants it all!

The last brag on our sauna for today – it comes equipped with Bluetooth. You can play music, podcast, or whatever tickles your fancy on your phone or tablet. Just keep the volume low to maintain the chill vibe for other customers in the spa.

Our basic float memberships currently come with a free 30-minute infrared sauna session per float. If you are thinking about what you can add to your self-care routine or starting one, a 30-minute infrared sauna followed by a 60-minute float could be your answer.
