Hi My Future Floaters 😊
I can’t always get what I want (sung to the beat of the Rolling Stones song), but I always get what I need.
For those of you that know me, you know that I have been back and forth to Nevada to visit my parents a lot over the last three years but especially over the last two months. During the last 3 visits, I come back with this fantasy that the float will magically be significantly closer to completion. You know, like it will be painted or the lights will be in or the plumbing done. It is just a fantasy and everything takes time. And each time my selfless husband has to tell me something else that has to be changed from what ‘I wanted’ to what ‘has to be’ for a variety of reasons, I feel a bit bad for him as I struggle with the emotion of it all.
I made a decision last week that from now on – no complaining, no bucking, no sucking my paw over what I can’t have. Period. End of the whining – it isn’t attractive on me anyway. I am grateful to report, that for now, I feel a sense of surrender.
Now, for the super-duper exciting part of this post – Mike and I got to float in our very own floats for the first time. Now, we don’t have showers yet, or finished floors, or finished anything for that matter, BUT we did float. We showed at home, drove the 5 minutes to the shop, floated and then drove home to shower. It was very exciting to sneak in midnight float for the first time ever at our own Float Spa.
So, while I didn’t get what I wanted, to be open today as we had planned, I did get to float. I will take it. We are closer my friends and future floaters. Thanks for hanging with me, as I am so very excited to have you come visit!
The Real Message: As the Rolling Stones have been belting out for decades, “you can’t always get what you want but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you what you need.”
